How To Create Karaoke Songs?

karaoke songs
Are you one among the thousands scratching your head to find out how to create karaoke songs? Then Read on...I've invested my time in this topic, so let me share my experience with you on the methods of creating karaoke songs. First of all, creating karaoke songs using a computer software is literally impossible. Trust me, I've spend hours downloading and testing majority of the free karaoke software's that claim to create karaoke songs. You can google for a list of free karaoke software's. It's the recording & mixing pattern which decides, whether or not you can remove the vocals completely. Most of the karaoke software's attain this by subtracting one channel from the other. This goes well with a recording where the vocals replicate on both stereo channels. To be honest, this method does work for recordings where the vocals are mixed exactly in the center. I'll show you how to do this manually using Audacity, a free open source software. You can download Audacity, right here.

1. Import the file to Audacity.

2. Open the track menu (click the arrow next to track title) & select“Split Stereo Track.”

3. Select the lower track by clicking the area around the mute/solo buttons.

4. Choose “Invert” from the Effects menu.

5. Using the track menus, change each track to “Mono.”

Once you are done, you can play the file to hear the results. Export the file, if you are satisfied.

As I said earlier, this works well for only some recordings where the vocals are mixed exactly in the center. If the left channel vocal isn't a replica of the right & vice-versa, you would need to use a couple of tweaks and plugins which would help you create a better karaoke song using a vocal remover. You can find more about the vocal remover
here. Whenever I read reviews about karaoke software's or karaoke equipment's, I've always thought why don't the author upload a sample audio output. So here you go! I have uploaded a sample of the original song and the karaoke output from Audacity. Check it out.

Susheela Ammamma

When my mobile buzzed at 12:00 Pm last week, I never expected bad news to come my way. I was late to bed and the moment I switched off the lights, I got a call from my aunt. She said "Ammamma ....." Her shaky voice and broken sentences were enough to convey the seriousness of the moment. It was hard for me to accept Susheela Ammamma's demise, It left me in a daze.

Susheela Ammamma is my aunt's mother in law but she was just like my grandma. During my school days, I used to spend my summer vacation at my aunt's house, that is how I became very close to her. As a kid, I used to adore her a lot because she was really different from people of her age group and one among the very few people who always enjoyed the lighter side of life. She was never old, might be because of her vibrant and receptive nature.
Her passion for music was pretty evident when she enjoy singing "Rama Rama Rama Rama Rama Nama Tharakam......." ( Rama Bhajan) at twilight. Her affable smile & gracious voice will remain eternal in my heart.

I always made it a point to visit her if I were on a vacation. It was couple of weeks back when I last met her. This time I went with my family as we had a plan to visit Sree. Muthappan temple, which is very close to my aunt's place. For some reason I thought of staying back home with grandma, while others went to the temple. I still don't know what made me take that decision. I was lucky enough to spend some quality time talking to her. It has been quite sometime since I have engaged in a long conversation with her. I was excited when she recalled the song which I used to sing during my school days. She didn't forget to mention the funny incidents which happened when she took me out for shopping. It turned out interesting to me when she started talking about a book she recently read and the way it inspired her. Each and every quote in that book has some connection to your life, she added. I was curious to know more about the book. She said it was written by Sri. Ravishankar and I should consider reading it. I humbly ignored her by passing a smile but was happy that those quotes helped boost her confidence. We talked away the afternoon, unfortunately that was the last conversation that I had with her. When it was time for me to leave, she asked the same old question "When are we going to meet again?" I assured her that I'll come again as I'll be here for another month. She dimpled up and wordlessly bid me goodbye.

Now a month later, when I go through the book which she found inspiring and when those quotes strike a note of my life experiences, I can't help my eyes going wet.
It's time for me to realize that I have lost a well wisher, and someone who is more than a grandma. May her soul rest in peace.

Google Is Fun

Google Is Fun
Does it sound stupid, If I say "Google Is Fun"? Yeah, It might, because it took no time for the research project by Larry Page and Sergey Brin to turn out to a corporate giant, "The Google" a US$23 billion enterprise. Google is the best example to cite, when asking someone to "think out of the box". The idea behind this search engine was way off from the conventional methodologies, search engines used to rely on those days. Now "Page Rank" has become a subject of concern among webmasters and end-users. So Google is no fun, It's something that can't be overlooked at. Amidst these facts, we cannot close our eyes to the humour that Google offers. I'm sure that most of the web savvies might have noticed the intellectual hoaxes that Google comes up with on April Fools day. I still remember how the "Pigeon Rank" article on April 2002 tickled my funny bones! No wonder why Google is voted as one of the best work places across the globe!! I just wanted to share those humorous articles which came up on Google. And before I do that, I would like to put a disclaimer that I'm not endorsing Google through this article. But I wanted to show some love to Google, for the traffic that it gave me for the previous post (google search for 'Godmen In Kerala' pulls up my page on top). Thanks Google! And here comes the links.

Isn't Google fun? Yeah, it looks like.

Wait a minute.. Google chose April fools day to officially announce Gmail. Majority of the crowd thought it was yet another hoax, because free email with 1Gb storage was unbelievable.

Isn't Google fun? Well, I don't know!

Swamis, Godmen & Kerala

Whew! What happened to the Chaitanya's & Bhadrananda's of our 'god's own country'?? Looks like media's focus has been shifted towards the election heat. But how can we forget those 'gem' personalities whose spiritual mask could help them hide from the police and even the Interpol. Kudos to the media for creating a 'Fraud Swami' hype across the state.

It all started with Santosh Madhavan, Oh! I'm sorry.. 'Swami Amrita Chaitanya', a petty shopkeeper turned swami, with a persuasive smile.
Then came the action hero Mr. Himaval Bhadrananda (Thokku Swami) with a pistol and Motorola SLVR, which was later charged inside the police station! He is the one who claims to have predicted Tsunami and Chikungunya fever. Had the police not arrested Mr. Himaval, he would have predicted the chinese earthquake, which could possibly save 10,000 lives. (His arrest...Oops, that was a bad decision)

We have seen a train of swami's and swamini's thereafter. We should really appreciate all those superstitious souls in kerala for promoting these fraud swami's and for wasting their valuable time, money and efforts publicizing them!! Majority of them would be from a well educated family background, Yeah... that's an irony!. Hope they all would learn from their mistakes. Last week witnessed some agitations against these god men, which at least is a good sign. Anyways, Mr. Himaval has proved a point that our policemen would really need a refresher training, educating them about the seriousness of the job they are handling! else we would hear a couple more gunshots from our police stations.
